Judges 14
And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife.
Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well.
Judges 14:1-3
He saw a woman of the Philistines, and told his parents to get her for him. You see, his heart was already in the wrong place. He wanted something he should not have been wanting. God had forbid His people from interspersing and marrying into each other's nations. But most of the times when the people went astray, if not all, the problem began with the mixing into the other wicked nations.
God had wanted his people to stay separate and pure for Him. He had chosen them. He knew how they would rebel and turn away from Him, but He stuck with them anyway. He didn't give up on them. And he didn't give up on Samson either. Samson would turn away from the Lord as well, but the Lord still had some purpose for him to fulfill. But it was only after Samson would turn completely from himself, would he be able to be fully used by God.
He would be used by the Lord to slay countless numbers of the Philistines; but the greatest thing he would do was when he was at his weakest. When he decided to fully surrender to the Lord.
"Lord show me what place in my heart is not fully committed and surrendered to You. Make yourself known to me. Amen."
