As the children of Israel had come to the city of AI, God had told them not to take anything out of the city, but to completely ravish and destroy it. And all the people as well. But one of the men, Achan, decided that he didn't want to
listen to the voice of the Lord, so he took some silver and gold and a beautiful Babylonian garment for himself.
Achan found out that sin never pays. A person can never truly get their own way. Your sin will come back sooner or later to haunt you. So what happened because of Achan's sin? He and his family and all of his possessions were destroyed. God obviously does not take sin lightly. After God destoyed Achan and all that he had, the children of Israel were able to defeat the city of AI, and God gave them the victory.
Is there a sin(s) in my life that I need to confess with the Lord?
Is there anything that I think I have have hidden from the Lord?
