Truly Born Again 8.12.09

But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

For many are called, but few are chosen."

Matt 22:11-14 (NKJV)

The King had graciously given everyone who was invited to the banquet proper wedding attire. This man's lack of a garment indicated that he had purposely rejected the king's provision. Have we purposely rejected the King's provision? Do we profess to be Christians, and are not really? God forbid!

And he was speechless means that he literally had no excuse. He knew that he had done wrong, but he had no excuse for it.

Will we be thrown into the 'outer darkness' because we don't have a wedding garment? Because we haven't truly accepted the King's gift?

Many are called, but few are chosen.

Are you one of the few? Anyone who accepts the King's gift, can be!
