2 because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me.
Phil 2:30 (NKJV)
Paul was praising Epaphroditus for his work in the gospel. He didn't care if he died for it. The other believers at Phillipi didn’t seem to care if they worked for the sake of the gospel. But he had broken free of his comfort zone.
More chains. More chains between you and God. More chains between you and others. Chains of laziness. Chains of selfishness. Chains that keep you from visiting the new guy/girl at church. I have to admit that I'm in the same boat. It is usually very hard for me to get over my self and be concerned with others, and how I can better serve them.
But we need to do it.
Find specific things that put you out of your zone. If you have a hard time talking to people, get over it. If you don't know whether you can do some sort of ministry in your church or youth group, ask your youth group or church leaders. Or if it's something you know you can, go for it.
Get up off of your bed of laziness.
Break free.
Serve God.
