Blasphemy 7/14/09

And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over

these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.

Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues because of the pain.

They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and did not repent of their

deeds.

Rev 16:9-11 (NKJV)

Here we see in Revelation that God is taking judgment on those who did not except his gift of salvation. The people He will be sending plagues on, realized who was behind the plagues and their suffering, but did not repent and turn away from their evil deeds. Instead, they blasphemed the name of God.

But it was their own responsibility to be concerned over their deeds.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn

from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Chron 7:14 (NKJV)

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may

come from the presence of the Lord,

Do I have any blasphemy in my life?

Do I curse or use the name of God in an inappropriate manner even in jest?

Do not take God's name lightly.
